I'm not sure how many drives it will pull before wearing out. The drive removal tool that comes with the unit works quite well but is of flimsy plastic. The housing is mostly plastic save for the bottom plate where the motherboard is mounted and the drive cages. The initial discovery is pretty easy and upgrading the firmware is a pretty simple affair (with one caveat in the Cons). Support for 3TB drives (with the latest firmware).
